THE CAR

This clean slate open wheel spec formula car is designed to fit drivers up to 6" 5". It is also the most tightly specified formula car to date. The design team worked with icons of the industry to build a competitive racecar that is extremely durable, safe, and inexpensive to operate.

Tires - The FormulaSPEED2.0 was designed around the fast and affordable Goodyear Formula Eagle G19 racing tire.

Transmission
- Hewland FTR 6 speed sequential transaxle rated for 240 ft/lbs of torque. Hewland transaxles have won multiple F1 and IndyCar championships. This is the very same transaxle used in Formula 3, GP3, and Star Mazda racecars. Power is transmitted through a custom MAZDASPEED racing clutch.

Aerodynamics
- Adjustable multi-element front, and dual element adjustable rear wing.

Data Acquisition
- Aim EVO4 with steering wheel display. Five fully configurable analog channels, integrated GPS module and tri-axial accelerometer, EVO4 gives the driver all key information for the best vehicle tuning and driving technique improvement.

Engine - Dry sump 2.0 Liter MAZDASPEED MZR High Output with forged crank and rods. Variable valve timing with 195 horsepower. Engine mapping designed and provided by Hasselgren Engineering. ECU provided by Cosworth/Pectel.


Bodywork - GRP composite with 4 layer Kevlar side protection, composite helmet surround, and composite front crash structure

Custom FS2.0 Intake Manifold


Chassis - The chassis is constructed of 4130 round tubing which is the same quality of construction found in Daytona Prototypes, NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow, and NHRA Top Fuel racecars. The chassis also features a bonded and riveted aluminium undertray ,firewall, and side panels. Chassis is a proprietary design manufactured by Fast Forward Racing Components. Fast Forward designed components have won major races and championships on Piper Racecars, Van Diemens, Swifts, and many other junior formula cars.



Suspension - Push rod, activated Ohlins TTX dampers and springs with upper and lower wishbones at front and rear, billet 7075 aluminum uprights and adjustable anti-roll bars. Highly desirable streamlined tubing is used to fabricate the a-arms.

Steering - rack and pinion unit with quick release steering wheel 

Brakes - Aluminum calipers, floating discs, cockpit adjustable brake bias

Wheels - 13" diameter - 8" front and 10" rear
